CHRISTMAS IN CRAWFORD, 2004
words and music

The cattle are lowing, and we’re eatin’ beef
And we’ve turned off the TV, and that’s a relief
And we’re countin’ our blessings and prayin’ for more
Christmas in Crawford, 2004

Now we’re pettin’ our puppies and clearin’ our trees
And we’re ridin’ and ropin’ and droppin’ our G’s
And the world on the outside is hard to ignore ... but we manage
Christmas in Crawford, 2004

And all is calm, all is bright
So pound the piano, and sing Silent Night

The lights are a-blazin’, and loved ones are near
And bad things don’t happen in my hemisphere
So pass me a pretzel, and hey, what’s the score?
Christmas in Crawford, 2004

And all are calm, and some are bright
And days are merry and airy and white
And I’m proud of my country where I got a right
To sleep in heavenly peace

The world’s full of people who aren’t so well blessed
We say let ‘em eat fruitcake, and God Bless the West
And it’s three weeks vacation and back to the war
Christmas in Crawford, 2004

And we clear the table like a wave clears the shore
Christmas in Crawford, 2004
